What Are Stainless Steel Strips / Strip Coils?
Stainless steel strips or strip coils are thin, flat metal strips known for their excellent corrosion resistance, strength, and durability. These strips are typically made from stainless steel alloys containing at least 10% chromium and 8% nickel, which form a protective oxide layer on the surface. This layer enhances resistance to rust, oxidation, and chemical damage.
A special process known as nitriding may be applied, which involves exposing the strip to high temperatures. This process removes the surface oxide and further enhances durability and strength. Stainless steel strip coils are also commonly used in heating elements, including furnace components made from copper-nickel (Cu-Ni) alloys, due to their excellent thermal conductivity and resistance to scaling.
